Multichannel firework control system

Multichannel firework control blocks and control panel

Firework control system with extremely high reliability.Old model was able to control up to 512 explosion points; new – up to 3300. Both can perform many additional functions : cable and ignitor testing before and after explosion, battery and communication testing, etc. For communication wit PC or special control console RS232 or RS485 interface can be used.

Figure 1. Firework control system

Firework control system consists of a controlling programme FT2 and of up to 26 32-channel or 128-channel firework startup blocks connected to the controlling computer. The computer is connected to the blocks through RS232 or RS485 interface.

The controlling programme FT2 makes it possible to write, edit and explode fireworks, and also get the information about physically connected channels and blocks. The programme can operate in 3 basic modes: edit, test, and explode.

128-CHANNEL BLOCK

The block effects an uniform 128-channel explosion controlled by computer. The block has 3 operation modes:

1. Test mode – the block forms special impulses of low power, according to which with the help of a special device the number of each channel may be identified. There is no connection to computer in this mode.

2. Preparation mode – the block effects all operations, but explosion voltage is not switched on, thus only the evaluation of condition of channels is possible.

3. Explode mode – the block effects explosion and testing functions.

32-CHANNEL BLOCK

The block effects a 32-channel explosion in random order. Depending on position of the switch Startup1/Startup2/RS232/RS485, there may be local (Startup1 enables to explode all 32 channels by one of two startup impulses, while in Startup2 position 0-15 channels are exploded by the impulse in the input_1, and 16-31 channels – by the impulse in the input_2) or computer controlled (positions RS232/RS485) firework explosion. The block can work with FT2 programme (RS232 and RS485 interfaces are possible, however, only RS485 enables to make a parallel explosion of several channels) and a timer (with RS232 interface). The block has 2 operation modes, which are shifted by a switch with 3 positions:

1. Test mode – the block forms special impulses of low power, according to which with the help of a special device the number of each channel may be identified. There is no connection to computer in this mode.

2. Preparation/explode mode – the block effects explosion and testing functions. An additional linkup switch of explosion voltage determines the mode that is on at the moment. While explosion voltage is not supplied, preparation mode is on. When it is supplied – explode mode, which is indicated by a red light-emitting diode. In explode mode, the block effects explosion and testing functions. In the preparation mode, the block effects all operations, but explosion voltage is not switched on, thus only the evaluation of condition of channels is possible.
